The Lapeer County Equal Rights Alliance provides the resources and tools to empower individuals and strengthen our communities.  We provide support and assistance where it is needed by all residents of Lapeer County and we will make every effort possible to find information and resources when we are unable to provide them ourselves.

We strive to engage the public with educational activities and events.

We oppose all measures aimed at disenfranchising idnviduals and/or groups of individuals and perpetuating discrimination.

We will refer concerned residents to legal assistance, oppose legislation we perceive as detrimental to the civil rights of our residents and promote legislation which supports and enhances the civil standing of our residents.

We will establish coalitions and work with other local and state organizations when necessary to combat injustice and inequality.

We will document abuses and complaints in order to keep informed of the injustices in our community.

We will oganize sujpport groups, social events and other informative and fun activities.

We believe in the fundamental right to live and love freely.  We believe all human beings must be treated equally and justly in a democratic society.  We believe it takes the actions of committed people to ensure the rights of all minority groups, whether it is GLBT people, people of color, women or the youth.
